Boat operators laud navy for security on waterways

Boat operators in Rivers have hailed the Nigerian Navy and other security agencies for the providing adequate security on waterways in the state.
One of the operators, Mr Isoko Kpepke, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Thursday that normalcy had returned on waterways in the state.
He said that increased patrols by the navy and other security agencies had improved maritime security.
Another operator, Mr Ipali Jackson, who rued the bad maritime security in the past, commended security agencies for making it possible for people to navigate.
Jackson urged the Federal Government to boost the capacity of the navy to curb sea piracy and other maritime crimes.
A stakeholder in the maritime sector, Mr Stanley Agolo, described current security on the waterways as heart-warming.
He said the presence of the navy and other security agencies had warded off criminals.
