First image of Michael Fassbender in ‘Assassin’s Creed’ shows adaptation is on its game
Actor Michael Fassbender is showing off his killer looks.
20th Century Fox released the first image from the movie adaptation of the hit video game, "Assassin's Creed," giving a clear look of Fassbender as the shadowy liquidator, Callum Lynch.
Production is set to start Monday.
Scheduled for a Dec. 21, 2016, release, the Justin Kurzel-directed flick will kick off a potential film franchise about the descendant of a secret assassin's guild who discovers his pedigree after unlocking genetic memories, according to Yahoo! Movies, which first revealed the photo.
Fassbender's Lynch won't be fighting alone: "Assassin's Creed" also stars Marion Cotillard and Michael Kenneth Williams.
Fassbender, a veteran of the "X-Men" and "Prometheus" movies, is also co-producing the film.
The "Assassin's Creed" videogame franchise has sold more than 85 million units worldwide since it was first launched in 2007, giving Fox a wide fan base to target.
