Woman dies after she was bitten by an Australian snake

Anne Wortham, from Fremantle, sadly died after she was bitten by a snake while walking her home at South Beach














Anne Wortham, 75, died after she was bitten by a snake in Fremantle in Western Australia.,she was walking along South Beach and an unknown snake bit.

Mrs Wortham came home and asked her husband to take her to hospital ,Chris Wortham  the husband said he tied a shoelace around her leg to slow the bleeding,but it was too late, Mrs Wortham died a short time later at a Perth hospital

He said blood was running down the back of her leg from where the deadly reptile had bit her when she calmly asked him to take her to hospital about 3.30pm on Saturday.

Mrs Wortham will be buried at 10am at St George's Cathedral in Perth on Tuesday.

She also said it could have been a tiger snake before she died when she arrived back home from her walk on Saturday afternoon

Her husband, Chris, tried to save her by tying a shoelace around her ankle to stem the flow of blood
